As it was reported that the cancellation of the 5th Test between India vs England did not go down well for some of the England cricketers. Some English cricketers were upset after Virat Kohli’s team decided not to take the field due to the C-19 scare.
According to a report in The Sun, the England camp believes that the Indian players themselves were flouting the Covid rules and were even seen in the streets of Manchester on Thursday while they were asked to stay at their hotels.
The report claimed that Indian players were spotted at a well-known department store in Manchester on Thursday. The report further states that a member of the Indian team even participated in a photoshoot.
There is also an allegation that every Indian player got tested on Thursday and all the reports came negative. Still, they refused to take the field on Friday.
England are very upset with the Indian team mainly because they attended the public event of the release of head coach Ravi Shastri’s autobiography this month
Sources described India’s behavior as “reckless” and admitted that attending the event was the main reason for the rise in cases among the Indian team and the coaching staff. English cricketers have shown their anger about this.
3 England players from the test side, Jonny Bairstow, Chris Woakes and David Malan, have pulled out of IPL 2021 in the view of personal and bubble reasons. This has dealt a blow to SRH, DC and PBKS respectively.
Aiden Markram has been included in the team by Punjab Kings in place of Malan. Five England players from the Test team – Jonny Bairstow, Sam Curran, Moeen Ali, Dawid Malan and Chris Woakes – were part of IPL 2021.
However, only Sam Curran and Moeen Ali would be taking commercial flights with Indian players for the IPL.
“We tried to hire charter planes, but since it was the last minute, we could not arrange any plane. Our players will leave tonight and reach Dubai tomorrow. Some of the England players (in the IPL) will also accompany them,” said CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan.
