Former England captain Michael Vaughan has once again spewed venom for Team India. He has told the IPL is the reason behind the cancellation of the fifth Test match between India and England in Manchester.
Vaughan tweeted, “IPL teams are arranging chartered planes. Must stay in quarantine for six days in UAE. There are now seven days left in the start of the tournament. The reason for the cancellation of the fifth Test match is nothing but the IPL, don’t tell me.”

Cricketer-turned-commentator Aakash Chopra has responded strongly to Vaughan’s tweet. Aakash wrote, ‘England had postponed the tour of South Africa under similar circumstances.’

Vaughan had questioned the cancellation of the match, saying it was all about money and the IPL. Earlier on Friday, Vaughan had tweeted, “India has hurt the dignity of England cricket, but England did the same with South African cricket.”
The fifth Test has been postponed indefinitely after the Indian team’s assistant physio came positive for the C virus. Indian team asked for 2 days postponement of the 5th test for the very reason but ECB insisted on forfeiture.
BCCI had issued a statement saying, ” BCCI has decided to cancel the fifth Test match in Manchester, jointly with the ECB. The BCCI has offered the ECB to reschedule the canceled Test match. Both the boards will work towards finding a window to reschedule this test match.”
“BCCI has always said that the safety and well-being of the players is paramount,” the board said in a statement. We will not compromise with this.
The BCCI would like to thank the ECB for its cooperation during this difficult time. We want to apologize to the fans for not being able to complete an exciting series.
